9TH KATIBA DAY COMMEMORATION
Katiba Day is an event organised annually in commemoration of 27 August 2010, the day the 2010 Constitution of Kenya was promulgated. 2019 marked the 9th year of this commemoration. This year, the event was held on 31 August under the leadership of the organising committee comprising Katiba Institute, Mazingira Institute, AwaaZ Magazine, The KHRC, Uraia and other Civil Society Organisations (CSOs). DTM responded to the request by the organising committee to document the deliberation, develop audio content and disseminate the same on Radio Baraza (RB), the broadcast space that has been created for CSO and development sector advocacy.
Katiba State of Affairs Today is the title of this episode of the “DELIBERATIONS” programme and is derived from the event’s title itself. In general, “DELIBERATIONS” is a programme series of RB that aims to enhance the involvement of audiences in the deliberations organised by thematic-based CSOs and other partners in the overall development sector, beyond those who participate in them directly. This particular “DELIBERATIONS” episode comprises six parts arranged as per the line up of speakers in the event’s programme.
