YOUTH AND WOMEN INCLUSION IN POLITICAL PROCESSES

Youth and Women Inclusion in Political Processes is a research report that looks at the issues of inclusion in the 11th and 12th Parliaments. Mzalendo Trust conducted the research with support from Netherlands Institute for Multiparty Democracy. Mzalendo joined forces with other partners to release the research findings in Nairobi Kenya on 31 October 2019. The Development Through Media (DTM) radio crew was at hand to record the entire event from which this episode of the “DELIBERATIONS” radio programme series has been produced and currently broadcasting on Radio Baraza (RB), the broadcast space created for CSOs. This “DELIBERATIONS” episode is now accessible through RB’s live radio as well as on demand through its independent players that broadcast on 24/7 basis.

In general, “DELIBERATIONS” is a programme series of RB that aims to facilitate increased involvement of audiences beyond those who participate directly in the events organised by CSO partners and other actors in the overall development sector.

About the Producer

DEVELOPMENT THROUGH MEDIA (DTM)

DTM is among the first non-profit and development oriented media organisation to set up in Kenya. DTM arose in 1997 as a local idea in response to challenges that have continued to stand in the way of developing independent and all-inclusive media and broadcasting models/institutions in Kenya and East Africa.

Radio Baraza (RB) is managed by DTM. It combines content production and promotion strategies with a fully-fledged online broadcast component dedicated purely to the promotion of development-oriented information. RB is hence proving to be CSOs’ and the overall development sector’s answer to our collective media content development and broadcast needs across all development themes.
